We all know that you can recycle cans, bottles, paper, and boxs. But what about matresses, electronic waste, and thoses VHS tapes?  Many companies are now setting up programs to recycle these and other products.

What Can You Do?

There are many different ways that families can help environmentalists reduce the effects of climate change. Most changes are simple, inexpensive, and all have proven to help decrease the output of carbon pollution. There are also many large ways to get involved. Through simple modifications, we can help save our world.

Get Involved

There are many groups all over the World dedicated to decreasing climate change and conserving the Earth’s resources.   For those who are truly passionate about climate change, there are many groups to get involved with.  Large organizations, like World Wildlife Fund and the Union of Concerned Scientists, are made up of hundreds of researchers, environmentalists, and volunteers.  However, there are several smaller organization in our communities that people can get involved with.  Volunteering at a local zoo or museum is also a good way to get involved within the community (Web Source 32).

Go Green

Getting a fuel efficient car, using energy efficient lights, and simply conserving energy are all easy ways for families to help the environment.  Recycling and reusing everyday items are also important.  It can take many years for a plastic bottle to fully degrade. When that bottle fully does degrade, it will have released significant amounts of carbon into the air.  Researchers think that large amounts of trash are also contributing to the large amounts of carbon in the air.  Recycling also has many other benefits. Some recycling centers will even pay you for your recycling. There are also very crafty ways to reuse every day products (Web Source 32).

Donate

Money is very powerful.  Donations to organizations can help the environment and wildlife.  It can also help show pollitions that people are concerned with the environment.  This can encourage large organizations to get involved as well.  There are many organizations online, as well as in the community (Web Source 32).

WWF is one of the many organizations dedicated to climate change research and helping endangered species in the process.
